Meta Muse, OpenAI Dots and Claude Duet: what they are, and an alternative you can use today
In a few weeks, Meta, OpenAI and Anthropic each launched a “personal AI agent”: an assistant that remembers you, speaks up first and does tasks for you. They're impressive, and most people can't use them yet. Here's what each one does, who has access, and what to use on your Android phone in the meantime. A note up front: we make Kora, so weigh our view accordingly.
What a “personal AI agent” is
A chat app waits for you to ask. A personal agent is meant to work more like a helpful person who knows you:
- It remembers what matters to you and uses it later.
- It speaks first: a morning briefing, a nudge about something you'd forget.
- It does things in your apps, not just answers.
- It asks before acting on anything important, like sending, paying or deleting.
All three new launches are built around those four ideas. They differ in how far they go and who can use them.
Meta Muse
Muse is Meta's personal agent. You give it a goal by text, it makes a plan and carries it out on its own secure cloud computer with a browser you can watch. Meta's examples include turning a saved recipe into a grocery list or planning a trip. It can keep working after you close the app and comes back when it needs your approval, and it can check out using a one-time card so your real card stays hidden.
Who can use it: it launched first in the US, with a free tier and paid plans.
OpenAI Dots
Dots are always-on agents inside ChatGPT. Each one works on an ongoing goal between conversations, keeps the project's context, and has its own cloud computer and browser. It connects to thousands of apps through OpenAI's plugins. Background work is read-only until you approve an action like sending an email.
Who can use it: at launch, ChatGPT's higher paid plans (Pro and Business Premium). It was not offered in the EU or the UK.
Anthropic Claude Duet
Claude Duet is Anthropic's personal agent, aimed at professionals and small-business owners. It sends a daily briefing, watches your connected apps for things that need attention, and helps with work like scheduling meetings or building a forecast. Anthropic says it checks with you before it acts on your behalf.
Who can use it: a research preview through a waitlist for paying Claude subscribers in the US.

What Kora does today
Kora is a personal AI assistant for Android, built around the same four ideas, on the phone you already have:
- Remembers you. Your people, plans and preferences, across every chat. You can see, edit or delete what it remembers.
- Speaks first. A morning briefing with what's on your day (reminders, birthdays, things you mentioned), and a “how did it go?” after the interview you told it about.
- Does it in your apps. Writes your WhatsApp or Telegram message and opens the chat for your tap, sets one-off and repeating reminders, adds calendar events, plays music on Spotify or YouTube, finds places nearby.
- Asks first. Messages and emails are drafted for you to check before anything is sent.
- Hands-free. Say “Hey Kora” (part of Kora Plus), or set it as your default assistant on the power button.
It talks in your language as a first language, not a translation, and works on everyday Android phones, not just flagships.
Where the big three are ahead
To be fair about it:
- Muse and Dots run long tasks on their own cloud computer, browsing and filling in websites while you do something else. Kora works through the apps on your phone instead and doesn't shop or book on the web for you.
- Dots and Duet are stronger for deep work: research, documents, spreadsheets and code.
- Kora is Android only for now.
If you're in the US, pay for one of those plans and want an agent for big web tasks, try them. If you want a personal assistant for your day, in your language, on the phone in your pocket, today, Kora is built for exactly that.
Can you use more than one?
Yes. Many people keep a chat app or agent for research and writing, and set an action-focused assistant like Kora as their default for quick things: messages, reminders, music. Here's how the main AI assistants for Android compare.
